| 5 stars for shipping. I received this rug 3 days after I ordered it, which is very quick compared to other items I've ordered online. 4 stars for the rug itself. The picture is deceiving because the rug itself is very dark. The "sand" colored portions are a mid-dark brown and all of the accent colors are very dark brown or black. The rug is all different shades of brown, no green, yellow, or other colors. I bought this rug for my entry way and it's fine that it's darker than expected because it's a high traffic area, but don't buy this rug if you want something lighter colored. |

Cheap but Works Well

This rug works well for college students. You can place it under a coffee table to limit spills that might otherwise fall on the floor.
Cheap and it shows, and darker than in the picture. However, for this price it's the best one I could find. The only cheaper option at this size was one I found at a common department store ($20), but was much uglier than this one (at least this has a design). With free shipping in my opinion this is a good choice. |
Rug Average, Shipping Too Expensive

This 5'x8' rug is nice but feels a bit thin underfoot, which improves marginally with a rubber pad underneath. The pattern is pretty in spite of the black edge pattern that gives it a darker appearance. That may be an advantage as we put it in the entry foyer where it will get a lot of traffic. Still, you get what you pay for and on balance it's probably worth the $55 purchase price.
However, I won't buy a rug from Amazon again. Why? The shipping charge was an outrageous $30, that's why. Why the shipping should be over 50% of the purchase price is beyond me. I dread to think what the shipping charge would be for a heavy 8'x10' wool rug. Yikes!
I learned my lesson and will buy my rugs locally from now on -- Sam's Club, Lowe's and Home Depot come to mind.

Oops! I somehow used the wrong numbers in the above review and I apologize. The correct amounts are: $34.99 for the rug and $20.00 for the shipping. That makes the quality of the rug a bit more tolerable for the price. My opinion about shopping locally still stands. And while the shipping charge is reduced, it is still more than 50% of the purchase price. |
Very Cheap and Very Dark

| The rug is much darker than the picture. Also, it is very thin and cheap. I would only give it one star, but it did not cost that much. I guess you get what you pay for. |
